The Graduate Welfare Committee is made up of six faculty members and, currently, seven elected graduate student representatives. The purpose of graduate representatives is to serve as liasons between the graduate student population and the faculty. This includes gathering concerns among graduate students and presenting them to the faculty as well as answering faculty concerns about graduate students.
We also provide graduate students with the tools to succeed and socialize. This includes pairing new students with older graduate student mentors, helping to pay for pre-qualifier grilling sessions, keeping the survival guide up to date, and hosting social events.
The current graduate representives are:
Deepesh Verma
Marilyn Wells
Yuxuan Zhang
Sarah Racz
Amanda Flores
Drue Hood-McFadden
