Dr. Jacob Embley (Tower Semiconductor, Inc.)

"Early career physicist in the semiconductor industry"

Abstract: The semiconductor industry has become a common launching point for young scientists who are looking to move their career beyond academia. This industry values PhD-level scientists for their advanced skills in experimentation, data analysis, and problem solving. This seminar will provide discussion and perspective from an early career physicist working in photolithography.

Bio: Jacob Embley is a second-year process engineer at Tower Semiconductor. He completed his PhD in Physics at UT Austin in May 2022. While in Austin, he worked with Dr. Xiaoqin Li, using ultrafast optical techniques to study exciton dynamics in atomically thin semiconductor materials. He and his wife now live in San Antonio with their two young sons.
