"The S-Matrix Bootstrap: Cornering String Theory"
Abstract: In the context of maximally supersymmetric Yang-Mills Effective Field Theory (EFT), I will show how to derive upper and lower bounds on the Wilson coefficients of higher-derivative operators from fundamental assumptions, such as unitarity and locality. I will discuss the geometry of these "S-matrix bootstrap" bounds and their physical implications, and I will present new results on cornering the open string Veneziano amplitude in the space of EFTs.
