"Quantum Computers and Spacetime!"

Abstract: Ideas from fundamental physics are crucial to realizing practical quantum computers and understanding their limitations. However, it turns out that ideas from quantum computer science may also play a crucial role in theories of fundamental physics. I'll briefly sketch some aspects of the latter point of view, which underlies an ambitious ongoing research program to construct a quantum theory of spacetime.
