"Was Einstein right?"

Abstract: The extreme gravity regime can be probed through the gravitational waves emitted in the inspiral of black hole binaries. But how do we extract information about physical theories from the data? In this talk, I will answer this question, describe how gravitational waves constrain deviations from general relativity, and how these constraints can be mapped to bounds on more fundamental (string-inspired) extensions.
