"The spread of quantum information in chaotic systems using qudits"
Abstract: The propagation of quantum information in chaotic systems can be characterized by a rate of information spreading, related to rates of entanglement growth and operator growth. This information velocity is calculated numerically for 1-dimensional spin chain models with varying entanglement densities. The effect of introducing mild nonlocalities and an increase of the size of a local Hilbert space in the spin chain (by considering qudits rather than qubits) on these rates of information propagation is explored.
