"New Exponential Hierarchies in Four Dimensions"
Abstract: I'll discuss a pair of recent proposals for generating exponential hierarchies in four-dimensional theories and explore their theoretical and phenomenological implications. So-called "Clockwork models" are quiver theories with specific patterns of charged states leading to exponential localization of a massless mode. "Anderson models" are quiver theories with random mass parameters leading to exponential localization of a light mode in analogy with Anderson localization in one dimension. Both constructions enjoy a variety of novel applications to models for physics beyond the Standard Model addressing flavor hierarchies, dark matter, and the electroweak hierarchy problem.
