"The Physics of RNA Folding: Structure is Not Enough"

1:00pm, RLM 11.204

Abstract: RNA is a biopolymer capable of folding into complex three-dimensional structures, which serve a variety of diverse functions in the cell. Although RNA is structurally similar to DNA it’s function is more closely related to protein. Recently, RNA was found to be a successful drug target for antibiotics. In my talk, I will discuss how single molecule experiments and molecular dynamics simulations can be used to understand the physics of how RNA folds.
