It is a pleasure to report that Jerry Hoffmann as been appointed to the Thornberry Professorship. This Professorship is intended to enhance the educational experience of the best engineering students; it is awarded every two years, alternately to Physics and Math faculty. In this case the award recognizes Prof. Hoffmann’s exceptionally fine teaching, over many years, of our engineering service courses.
