"Wavelength Shifting Plate: Improvement of the Liquid Argon Veto System of the LEGEND-1000 Experiment"

Abstract: The observation of 0νββ would be evidence of the Majorana nature of the neutrino, implying the violation of lepton number conservation. There have been worldwide efforts to search for 0νββ with a variety of isotopes and detection techniques, and the best limits on the 0νββ half-life(10^26 years) have been achieved by the GERDA and KamLAND-Zen experiment. Now, The GERDA collaboration moves to the LEGEND experiment, combining their resources and techniques with the MAJORANA Demonstrator collaboration, and it would be expected to achieve 100 times better sensitivity 0νββ half-life(10^28 years). In this talk, I will provide an overview of the LEGEND experiment, and introduce the wavelength shifting plate model which could be better than the current wavelength shifting fiber model in the Liquid Argon Veto system of the LEGEND experiment.
