"Scanning Tunneling Microscopy Study of Proximity Induced Topological Superconductor"

Abstract: Ever since the quantum hall effect was discovered, researchers put a lot of effort in searching for the topological order in materials. Topological superconductor now start to gain more interest due to its edge states, so called Majorana modes, which satisfies non-abelian statistics and can be used in developing quantum computers. To achieve such kind of topological superconductor, we proposed an experimental idea by using proximity effect to induce superconducting gap in the topological insulator, using scanning tunneling microscopy to study.
