"DCON for Stellarators"

Abstract: The DCON code [A.H. Glasser, Phys. Plasmas 23, 072505 (2016)] is widely used to determine the ideal MHD stability of axisymmetric toroidal plasmas. We are now developing a new code DCONS for determining the ideal stability of nonaxisymmetric plasmas, e.g. stellarators. Nonaxisymmetry implies that the toroidal mode number n is no longer a good quantum number, since the equilibrium variation couples different values of n. Details of the formulation and the status of the code will be presented.
