"Multiply fibered Calabi-Yau manifolds and duality"

Abstract: The seminar will start with a discussion of some facts about known constructions of Calabi-Yau varieties. This will focus on the ubiquitous nature of multiple fibrations in these manifolds. We will then go on to explore consequences of these facts for various dualities involving F-theory compactifications. The discussion will be illustrated throughout with concrete worked examples of the phenomena under consideration.
