"Introduction to entanglement entropy in field theory and holography"

Abstract: I will give a very broad introduction to entanglement entropies in quantum field theories and to their calculation in theories with gravity duals. If time permits I will also discuss recent joint work with M. Freedman on the bit-thread interpretation of holographic entanglement entropy.
