"Toward Applications of Shaped Laser Fields to Ultracold Boson Systems"

Abstract: Progress toward the integration of a novel beam-shaping technique to systems of ultracold bosons is reported.  Details of a comprehensive rebuild of a Bose-Einstein condensate machine and observations during the rebuild are discussed.  Planned experiments depending on the future production of Bose-Einstein condensates are described, and further work necessary to achieve these goals is explained.
